Originally from Boston with the slang to prove it, I'm now based in the magical city of Amsterdam where I spend a lot of time cruising around on my bike and conjuring up ideas for my next creative project.
As a designer I combine the empathy of user research with the impact of content strategy and UX writing to humanize digital experiences.
I'm Pembroke,
nice to meet you.

What got me started in UX design
I started my UX journey working with emerging technologies in academic libraries, where qualitative user research and usability testing teamed up with data analytics and service design. I gained a lifelong appreciation for the impact that thoughtful design can have on people's lives and seek to imbue this in all my work.
In another life, I worked in the international humanitarian sector analyzing the reconciliation process in post-conflict societies. I wrote some stuff about that here.
Some things I've done
Defined the tone-of-voice and wrote clear, concise UX copy for a civic-technology platform that won its category in one of the world's largest Hackathons to-date.
Lead a user research team to dig deep and find the insights needed to improve a complex academic library website at Saint Michael's College.
Developed the Boston College Libraries' first digital content strategy to unify and streamline the brand's identity.
Conducted research, wrote engaging copy, and designed user flows to bring the history of Andover, Massachusetts to life through a virtual history tour app.
& lots more.
